Milan ZTL 2026 Update: New Rules for Buses in the City Center (Area C)
The city of Milan has enforced new, stricter traffic rules for 2026. They directly affect group trips of passengers who want to use charter buses. If you are not familiar with this traffic rule, we encourage you to start by reading our Complete Guide to Milan ZTL first, then coming back here to learn about the latest changes.
Quadrilatero della Moda
There is a specific region within the city center known as Quadrilatero della Moda, or Fashion District. That region has become a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL, in Italian) of its own, with traffic restrictions enforced 24/7.
While the nearby Area C ZTL is only active from Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 19:30, the Fashion District has become permanently restricted, which means vehicles like charter buses are no longer allowed to circulate there.
According to the ordinance, streets like Via Montenapoleone, Via della Spiga, Corso Venezia, and Piazza San Babila are now off-limits to large vehicles as an attempt to control road traffic and cap air and sound pollution.
Solution: where to drop off guests?
Fortunately, there are a few options for drivers to park and drop off their passengers while remaining compliant with the new rules:
- Piazza Castello: This is the best option for large groups. The area offers a big parking space which is perfectly suitable for full-size charter buses.
- Via Marina: This is considered a short-term solution. Drivers may only perform quick pick-ups or drop-offs directly on the street. Parking is strictly forbidden.
- Hotels in Area C: It is still possible to pick up and drop off groups near hotels located inside Area C, as long as the drivers respect the daytime restrictions.

Conclusion
As usual, our drivers are already up to date about those restrictions, so they will be able to plan your itinerary without any compliance issues.
