New Rome ZTL fees for tourist buses during the Rome Jubilee 2025

Remember that we once wrote a special article about the ZTL Rome for buses here? This time, the city of Rome has defined higher fees to enter its limited traffic zones (ZTL) during the 2025 Jubilee. The new prices will be valid from December 24th, 2024 to January 6th, 2026 and aim to keep air and sound pollution under control by limiting the number of vehicles in those zones.

The 2025 Rome Jubilee is going to attract a significant number of visitors to the Rome historic center, so the authorities decided to enforce tougher restrictions against tourist buses. They will be subjected to higher fees to enter the Rome ZTL according to their size as shown below:

Table of updated prices to enter the Rome ZTL 2025

In case you want to buy a permit for only one day, you may do it online or on the street, right at the checkpoint. The table below shows that there is a price difference between those options:

1-day permit Checkpoint purchase Online purchase
Over 8 meters Up to 8 meters Over 8 meters Up to 8 meters
A € 40 € 32 € 30 € 24
B, B1, B2, B3, B5 € 600 € 480 € 451 € 361
B4 € 480 € 384 € 361 € 289
B51, B52, B53, B55 € 720 € 576 € 541 € 433
B54 € 576 € 461 € 433 € 346
G (major events) € 50

As you can see, the fees to enter the ZTL in Rome have increased by up to 300% in some cases. If you are planning to attend the 2025 Jubilee events, booking a coach rental Rome is extremely important because it can spare you from driving in a crowded region and paying such high fees.

How to buy permits to the ZTL in Rome?

Starting on December 11th, 2024, the city of Rome has made a new link available to purchase permits to legally enter the ZTL. You can access that new link by clicking here.

You can access the online services using the SPID of the legal representative of the requesting company. That person can use the portal to decide whether to operate directly or delegate to a third party. In the second case, the delegate must also access the system with their own SPID.

Foreigners who do not have a SPID must request accreditation for the service by submitting the documents indicated on the portal. Once the request is accepted, the user will become able to operate directly on the system.

You can make payments with the PagoPA system. SEPA bank transfers are no longer accepted.

What else to know about the Rome Jubilee?

If you are new to this event, we invite you to read about the Rome Jubilee 2025. Parallel to that, the city is also establishing new parking lots for buses on the city’s outskirts. This way, they can stay at convenient locations to drop off visitors and have them visit the restricted areas on foot. This is very important to know because thefts also become more common during those times.

It is also important to know that the Rome ZTLs are going to stay active for one more hour every night. They will be enforced from 6:30 in the morning to 20:00 at night every day, which includes weekends and holidays. You should plan yourself accordingly in order to avoid surprise fines.
