Originally named Flughafen München, this international airport is located in Upper Bavaria. It is the second busiest in Germany, only behind Frankfurt’s airport. The MUC airport is a hub for Lufthansa as well as a base for other airlines. It is located 28.5 km northeast of Munich and is named after a former Bavarian president. This airport can handle the Airbus A380.

How to move in MUC airport?
There are two terminals. Terminal 1 is the oldest and handles 25 million passengers per year. You will notice five independent subdivisions: A through D have infrastructure for departures and arrivals, including driveways and parking. Module E, in turn, can only handle arrivals.
You may also like to know that modules A and D are used for Schengen flights while B and C are used for other destinations. There are some check-in counters closer to the central area Z, where you will also find most of MUC airport’s infrastructure for restaurants and stores.
Terminal 2 is 11 years younger and can also handle 25 million passengers per year. This one is exclusively used by Lufthansa and other Star Alliance members except for Turkish Airlines. It is a hub terminal, so it does not have subdivisions. Everything is arranged around a Plaza.
Navigating From Terminals to Charter Bus Stop at Munich airport
It is very easy for you and your group to meet your BCS driver. Take a look:
- Terminals 1A to 1E: There are meeting points right in front of their exits. You can simply leave the terminal and see your BCS driver right next to it. They will escort you to the bus parking lot.
- Terminal 2: This terminal is closer to the bus parking lot. Once you leave it, you will have to walk for about a minute to reach your bus.

- Even though the airport has a shopping region, it also features the Munich Airport Center (MAC). It is a recreational area built with Terminal 2 with a tent-like roof.
- The parking space offers a total of 30,000 spaces. The P20 garage at Terminal 2 has 6,400 spaces: it was the largest parking garage in Germany by 2003, when it opened.
- There is a specific region for tourists: the Visitors Park offers a beautiful view of the Western apron as well as restaurants and shops where you can buy collector items.
