Terminal 1 is the newest, being opened in 1998. It is also larger, divided into three sections. Concourse A handles domestic and Schengen flights; Concourse B handles intercontinental and non-Schengen flights; and Concourse C handles the same as the B plus special flights.
Terminal 2 used to be exclusive for easyJet, but it has been closed since the 2020 pandemic. It is currently undergoing renovations and is scheduled to reopen soon, in summer 2023. All services which used to be offered at that terminal were temporarily relocated to Terminal 1.
The Malpensa airport provides free shuttle services to connect both terminals. Besides that, there is a new railway line as of 2016 for the same purpose. This airport is located 49 km to the northwest of Milan, next to the Ticino river, and services three regions of the country.
